It’s no secret that Islesboro rocks! Part of its unique character comes from its very base – the island’s geological makeup. Justin Strauss, Associate Professor of Earth History and Tectonics at Dartmouth College, is involved in an ongoing research and mapping project on Islesboro for the Maine Geological Survey. On Saturday, November 18th, he joins us at IIT’s Turtle Head Preserve to discuss Islesboro’s geological history and what makes it unique.
