Islesboro Islands Trust offers a variety of environmental education programs to the Islesboro community throughout the year.
School Programs
IIT has an excellent working partnership with the Islesboro Central School and Islesboro Preschool. We organize field and classroom-based environmental education during the school year, and work closely with teachers to design programs that fit well with their curriculum. Summer Programs
IIT is proud to provide diverse programs for all ages, during the Summer. We coordinate with the Islesboro Preschool Summer Camp and the Islesboro Adventure Camp as well as offer independent programs and events to bring the excitement of the outdoors to Islesboro’s youth. Walks, Talks & Events
IIT offers a wide variety of walks, talks & events on a myriad of topics throughout the year. Experts in their fields teach participants through presentations, guided walks and workshops, highlighting unique and interesting features and skills. Topics have included bird watching, herpetology, star gazing, geology, canning, gardening, local history, archeology, local food, foraging, art, and many more.
